On rare occasions when installing GameMaker Studio 2 you may find that the installer gets stuck when installing the vcredist_x86_2015 component:
This will require you to force close the installer from the Task Manager, which will permit the rest of the install process to proceed and finish. Afterwards it may look like you can use GameMaker Studio 2 as it may well run and appear to function correctly, but this is not the case and you will need to uninstall the program and reinstall from scratch again.
If a reinstall still shows the issue, please check your Windows Updates and make sure that nothing is scheduled to be installed, and if there are updates queued, start the update process for Windows and when it is finished install GameMaker Studio 2 again.
